A while ago, I posted a list of books I’ve read, talking a bit about each one. I thought it’d be fun to do that with video games.
Suikoden 2 – Finally finished this one. I sank 45 hours into it, over the course of about four or five months. Maybe longer. Six months? I don’t know. It’s been a while. I enjoyed it immensely. It took everything that was good about the first one, and made it better.
Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks – I wanted to like this game. I really did. I loved Wind Waker. I enjoyed Phantom Hourglass considerably more than a lot of people. But, by the end of Spirit Tracks, I wanted to throw my DS out the window. I don’t know who keeps telling devs that escort missions are fun, but those people need to be shot. They aren’t. Ever.
Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box – Loved it. Solving puzzles. Good times. Haven’t played the third one yet, but it’s on my list.
Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies – Still working my way through this one. It’s a good chunk of game. Plus, they number all of the side quests, which leads me to be like “Oh crap! I missed side quest 6! I must go find it!” This one won’t be done for a while.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – For about 15 years I’ve used the handle CV_Otaku for forums, chat rooms, email and whatnot. The CV stands for Castlevania. I’ve been a fan of this series for over two-thirds of my life and that love hasn’t stopped with LOS. This is just a terrific entry into the series, and I’m loving every minute of it.
That’s it for right now. Usually, I have a DS game and a console game going at the same time. I then switch back and forth between them. Right now, DQIX is going to suck up the DS for a while, I think. I’m about halfway through Castlevania. After that’s done, I think I’ll dive back into the PSX era with Final Fantasy IX.
